Who We Are
We are a non-profit organization (tax ID# 47-0878365) led by a board of directors and run and sustained by our members. Membership is open to all who have a willingness to work in order to help themselves and others.
Mission
Renton Community Co-Op provides a means to be better stewards of our world. In order to reduce waste, we match available resources to the general membership. The existence of this organization depends entirely upon the participation of its membership in all phases of the operation.
How We Operate
We partner with stores to reduce their waste by picking up items that are no longer saleable but are still useable. Every member of our organization shares in the workload and we distribute within the group first. Members regularly share their portion with others in need.
We regularly gather items such as produce, bread, pastries, dairy and deli products, along with miscellaneous canned goods and other non-perishables.
Renton Community Co-Op chooses to work 7 days a week with the exception of Thanksgiving and Christmas.
